I dont think, people really understands how it is to be an "immigrant", it takes huge courage and effort, to say "I'm now a citizen of this country. This is my home and my people", I think it is embedded in us, that we dont want to try to force our way into something, we might not be allowed to be a part of, or we're afraid that we won't be accepted maybe. But truth be told, Anyone who lives in Denmark, who embraces denmark, and wants the country to be good for the people and everyone else, is a dane (obviously you need a citizenship eventually to have it on paper too) but if you connect with a people, and want to be a part of the society and can relate to the direction the country is going in, then you're one of us. Thats just my opinion. It is ok to call yourself "American dane" or "American", or "Dane" w/e you want, it makes no difference, and it is important to remember where you came from, and where your roots were, but we're humans, we can adapt to so much if we allow ourself. I myself feel that any person can be a part of who i associate with, if they're likeminded and share a love for the people, it doesn't matter where you came from, what you believe in, or what you look like. If you're a part of the team, your're in as a equal <3

Danish people are very jealous and envy. They have this jante loven law. It's all paranoid thinking. It's strange they can look better than you you must not look better them you. It's called hypocritical. It's DNA in them Also. The government has a huge mental health problem you can read all bout it on Google Copenhagen Post. They say 32 %men 38% women . And children 16 to 24 years old as I say you can read for your self this from authorities

All these benefits the Danes paid for should stay in Denmark and not wasted on a group of religious elites that least appreciate it. There should be a now law passed, not paying benefits to non danish citizens and to make getting citizenship much harder. If someone go and bug some Danish about eating in Ramadan day time, the Danes must have the right to force that pork sausage or bacon down his throat.

It's good to see that she thinks it's hilarious,.... now you'll understand why Danes are the way they are... Surely if you go to a different country you'll be eating or seeing things that you haven't before... If she went to China, she'd die. As a Dane, I'm offended - I don't think she'll have many 'friends' there with this rhetoric...(I feel sorry for her husband 😐) ua-cam.com/video/o7fSnZvh4Bg/v-deo.htmlsi=iCF6IjsYIlqwaLGh

We all take care of each others children, it is a country based on trust. I am 65 years old and still working - I have paid my taxes for nearly 50 years and I am still happy to do so. I have 3 kids - 2 oldest have finished university and are in good jobs, the last one is studying medicin (In Denmark it is at least a 7 year education).

Hi Kelly. Do you know that the two very American things, Mount Rushmore and the Burger is infact creaded/invented by Danes ? 🙂 Gutzon Borglum creaded Mount Rushmore from 1927-1941 and Louis Lassen invented the Burger in 1895 in New Haven.

Australians are big fans of tea and coffee breaks too. I went to a 2-day convention in Australia where there was an American lady who was amazed at how many breaks we had for tea/coffee and biscuits or cakes: Morning tea, 10:00 a.m. Afternoon tea 3:00 p.m. Supper 9:00 p.m. On top of that, most Australians had tea or coffee with their breakfast, lunch and dinner. I wouldn't survive a 2-day convention without so many of those welcome breaks.

In the Uk, parents are not allowed to slap their kid’s bum as well. As a result, the kids grow up not respecting anyone, neither their own parents, nor the elderly, nor anyone at all. Last year, I passed by a kid like 12 years old maximum, maybe less and it was a narrow bridge so I looked at him. Well, he stopped and asked me what the f**** I was looking at. I was quite surprised because I could break all his bones right there and even so, he wasn’t scared because he was never beaten up by his parents. I was beaten up when I was a kid and learnt how to respect people older than me, and not to challenge them or face them. I knew I could be beaten up and it would hurt, so I always smiled and even tried to help those older than me. Always respected my parents, grandparents, other relatives and the whole neighbourhood. Here in the UK, young teenagers get into a grocery store steal food and drinks and face the security (when there is any) as if they were adults, ready to stand their ground, even though they are 200% wrong and are weaker, and would probably get hurt badly in getting into a fight with a security guard. The security guard would be in serious trouble. So, this sort of left wing legislation is destroying the society.

You do not have to be foreign to think some of the food is weird. I am Danish, and I agree with you up to a point: 1) The red sausage was more popular in my childhood. It was often served at childrens' birthday party as a goodbye-meal. Today you can get sausages, that are not red, but more brown, and since immigration from meditarian and other cultures kebab, springroles, pizzas and other snacks have decimated the red sausage. I have not eaten it for many years, and I guess they contain other colours than in my childhood. After eating red sausages, we would pee red the day after. 2) Not particular Danish. 3) I always avoid the special cucumber in vinegar. It is sour and I will at any time prefer a real, raw and fresh cucumber. 4) You are right, that many old people like this gravy. I can eat it, but it is not a pleasure. It can be used on boring boiled potatoes. I have only cooked it myself once, when it was sceduled in my kichen class in school. 5) Disgusting. (afSKYeligt) (hope you get the joke). I always leave it on the plate when it is served. 6) Forloren in this sense means that you prepare the minced meat as you would prepare a hare.(Not rabbit), I.e. an artificial imitation. 7) This has set Denmark on the international food map.
